PlaqueAway is an all-natural, organic solution which provides significant oral health benefits. Clinically proven to reduce plaque and tartar.
Many people are not fully aware of how critical oral health is to overall general health. Accumulation of plaque and tartar results in poor oral health because it is commonly associated with cavities and gum disease (gingivitis and periodontitis). Gingivitis is when gums become irritated and inflamed. Periodontitis is more severe and is when there is a loss of the connective tissue fibres that attach the gums to the teeth and the bone surrounding the teeth. Periodontitis has been linked to increased inflammation in the body, and through this, to increased risk of stroke, heart attack and atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries). Thus, a reduction in plaque and tartar has significant overall health benefits.
The key ingredient, Ascophyllum nodosum, is a seaweed harvested in the North Atlantic Ocean which naturally reduces plaque and tartar on teeth. Tartar that does form will be softer than normal and will not stick as strongly to your teeth.
PlaqueAway is an Australian owned family company and is manufactured in Australia in a TGA (Therapeutic Goods Administration) accredited GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) certified manufacturing facility specialising in complementary medicines. The facility is also certified organic (Australian Certified Organic).
Recommended Use & Results:
Take one capsule twice daily. Although 2 capsules can be taken as a single dose, it is preferable to split the daily dose into morning and evening. This means that the active compounds in the product are maintained at more constant levels in the body, thus achieving better results.
We recommend that PlaqueAway is taken by adults (18 years and over). PlaqueAway can also be used from 14 years of age although the maximum tolerated dose of iodine is slightly lower in this age group than in adults.
From daily use, results are normally expected in about 3 weeks. However, for some people, it may take longer (up to 6 or 8 weeks). It is unlikely that PlaqueAway will be effective in reducing an already heavy accumulation of tartar, but it will reduce further accumulation.
Suitable for vegetarians and vegans. The Ascophyllum nodosum is a marine plant and the capsule is vegetable.
Fights off bad breath - reduces bacteria and plaque development in your mouth, helping to improve your breath, and allowing you to feel confident and comfortable in your own skin.
Reduces Oral Plaque and Tartar
Helps to whiten and brighten - through the power of Ascophyllum nodosum, PlaqueAway reduces stained plaque on your teeth, helping to whiten and brighten teeth.
PlaqueAway is believed to work systemically (i.e. via the bloodstream) rather than locally (just within the mouth). That is why taking a capsule is effective. There are a large number of compounds in seaweed and the exact compounds which are active in reducing plaque are not known, but iodine, phenols, phosphates, fucoidan, zinc, sulphates and/or silicates may be involved.
Safety of Use:
For most people, using PlaqueAway is safe. Ascophyllum nodosum is naturally high in iodine, so if you suffer from a thyroid condition, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have a diet that is very high in iodine*, consult your doctor before using PlaqueAway.
PlaqueAway is a good source of iodine for people who have very low levels of iodine in their diet. Iodine is an essential trace element and an integral component of thyroid hormones which are required for normal growth and development.
*The main foods that are high in iodine are seafood (particularly oysters) and sushi containing seaweed. Iodised salt is fortified with iodine, however, its use has been reduced due to a growing awareness of the association between high salt consumption and hypertension. Bread made with iodised salt has moderate levels of iodine. Lower levels are found in dairy foods (cheese, milk, yoghurt and ice cream) and eggs.
