With so much information sharing (both good and bad) through all our modern mediums, we are fortunate enough to be able to create more of a self-directed learning in pretty much any field of interest. In health, we have a massive sharing of information about what health actually is, from the physiological and physical to the lifestyle, mind and spiritual aspects.
Balancing these elements encompasses what we call Health, and working out what to do in your own world can be overwhelming given various and often conflicting sources, as well as finding a balance of what's too much and what's not enough. And of course what's actually right. Sometimes it's a journey. There is no right or wrong, everyone is so unique. Things change course, but starting somewhere as you sense the need and creating greater self-awareness as you go, is often the catalyst to gaining traction and growing wisdom.
Engaging in health-focused activity can be looked at as self-care. When you identify a need for some self-care or self-growth, be kind to yourself, and allow a place in your mind that sometimes self-care is not a linear experience where X + Y = Z, i.e. sometimes we don’t know what we can’t control until we try to control it. There is a wisdom with looking after our health that can be learned from developing self-awareness where you learn to listen to your body, without the mind-noise to help you work out which path to elaborate on as you go. Sometimes you set a plan for something from A to Z, but as you progress through your journey things can change - often quite a lot, because we are not linear - our bodies and psyche are complex.
So our message here is: You Are NOT JUST What You Eat, you actually Are What You Are - learning yourself, learning your acceptance, having kindness for where you are right now, and where you would like to go and enabling the journey to change as you go, is a great help to making great choices and not setting yourself up to be stuck at various stages because your mind is telling you one thing and your body another. Being Human is a progressive art. Be kind, be you, as you are, and enjoy your journey. Self-care isn’t selfish, it is selfless. A better you is a better world around you, including everyone else in it. You have all the power.
If we can help you with anything in relation to Self-Care, with tangible progress “things”, our health store is expanding to accommodate more and more of the broader aspects and meanings of health, we warmly welcome you to get in touch any time for a chat.
